Casio Watches
A collection of short reviews about various Casio watches that I either currently own, or owned in the past.
Casio F-91W

The Casio F-91W was the first watch I ever wore, it cost about £12 and
I have been wearing it everyday for a while now.
There is just something about this watch that is so timeless, it can
be worn in basically any occasion, or at least the original black and
blue color which is what I own.
The watch is really basic, only providing what you need. That being a
stopwatch, the time in 12 hour or 24 hour format, the date, an alarm and
a little light that does the job, even if not the greatest.
The light is something people talk about a lot, that being how shit it
is. In my opinion, it's not that bad, it's not great, but not useless
either. When you're in pitch black conditions you can see everything
on the display, even if the right side of the LCD is more dim than the
left.
The alarm really isnt all that loud, I would 100% not trust it to wake
me up in the morning, I find it more useful for day time alarms for
whatever I might need a day time alarm for.
The stopwatch is pretty useful, but there is no count down timer which
would be more useful than a stopwatch in many circumstances.
The strap and watch itself are made out of resin. I have heard people
say that the strap is prone to breaking, I have not had the strap
break on me yet, and if it does, I would be tempted to consoom and buy
a whole new F91-W because of how cheap they are. The strap is also
really accomodating, I have tiny wrists, it runs in the family, and I can
wear this on the fourth hole down.
I feel like this watch is pretty durable, I dont see the need for the
more durable G-Shocks as even the F91-W feels pretty indestructable. I
often work in wet and dusty conditions with it on and it's doing just
fine. This watch is rated up to 30 meters (3 bar) water resistance and
although Casio dont recommend even washing your hands with this watch on
, mine is doing just fine.
Overall I love this watch, it is cheap, reliable, durable and stylish.
I would 100% get one if you are at all interested in getting into Casio
watches, or watches in general.
